Why Tri?

For hope and fulfillment

“As a child I was physcially and emotionally abused. Racing gives me a sense of fulfillment. Kids In Crisis is exactly the place I needed as a child, but did not have. I want to spread the word about Kids In Crisis so other children don’t have to suffer like I did.”  – KIC IT Triathlete

To Encourage Others

“I want to lead by example, and encourage kids to get out, and be active.” – KIC IT Adult Triathlete

To do something good

“I am competitive and like to race, but at the end of the day I want to do something that I can feel good about. Raising money for Kids In Crisis allows me to give back to the community and help others.” – Former Kids Triathlete

For my daughter

“I lost my daughter four years ago to drug addiction and now I’m doing all I can to help other families before it’s too late.  I race and raise money to help increase awareness.   Had I known about Kids In Crisis back then, our story may not have had such a tragic ending.”  – Former KIC IT Triathlete

To honor those overcoming obstacles

“Having taught residents at Kids In Crisis, I remember one boy in particular who impressed me with his commitment to overcoming obstacles. I honor his effort with my own personal athletic effort.” – former KIC IT Triathlete
